- This is NOT real tile. The wall has been painted to look like tile to start with. Then some tiles were painted to look like handpainted tiles. So if this kitchen design changes over the years, all they need to do is paint out the fruit tiles and paint flowers in their place.(or whatever the new theme is) It is also good for resale. The new homeowners can just paint it out if it doesn't work with their decor.
